When was the MG Hector Plus launched?
MG launched the facelifted Hector Plus in India in January 2023 at the Auto Expo.
What variants does it get?
The MG Hector Plus is available in Style, Select Pro, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro variants in both six- and seven-seater iterations.
What features are available in the MG Hector Plus?
Similar to the Hector facelift, the updated Hector Plus boasts a new fascia with a large chrome grille. There are no changes to the headlights and LED DRL units and even the silhouette remains unchanged. But the MPV still receives taillights with a revised signature. There's also a new exterior paint shade called Dune Brown. On the other hand, the 215/55 R18 wheels with the five-spoke dual-prong design have been retained.
The updated interior of the Hector Plus gets the white and black theme with some chrome elements from the Hector. The newest inclusion to the MPV's dashboard is a 14-inch touchscreen, which is upsized from the 10-inch display offered before. Like the Astor, the Hector Plus also gets a Level 2 ADAS suite with 11 features as a part of the assistance systems. Moreover, the carmaker has updated the in-car controllability for the infotainment system by adding more connected car features. Also, the Hinglish voice control suite has been improved upon. Another notable feature of the Hector Plus is the Bluetooth key that can be enabled via the brand's app.
What are the engine and performance specifications of the MG Hector Plus?
Like the updated MG Hector, the Hector Plus also makes use of the same powertrain line-up that was offered before. So, it gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to either a six-speed manual or a CVT. This mill produces 141bhp and 250Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel version is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder motor producing 169bhp and 350Nm. It is offered only with a six-speed manual and there is still no automatic transmission for the diesel.
Is the MG Hector Plus a safe car?
The MG Hector Plus has not been tested for NCAP safety ratings yet.
What are the rivals to the MG Hector?
The MG Hector Plus competes with the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and the Mahindra Scorpio Classic apart from some other D-segment sedans.
