The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift has officially arrived in India with a price tag of Rs 55.7 lakh (ex-showroom). While it keeps its signature retro-futuristic look, it brings significant upgrades to range, tech, and interior comfort.
Sitting on the specialized E-GMP electric platform, this remains Hyundai's top-tier electric vehicle in the country.
More Power and Better Range
The most important update is under the floor. Hyundai has swapped out the old 72.6kWh battery for a much larger 84.0kWh unit.
- Extended Range: The driving range has jumped from 631km to an impressive 690km (ARAI certified).
- Performance: The rear-wheel-drive motor delivers 229hp and 350Nm of torque.
- Super-Fast Charging: Using a DC fast charger, you can go from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
- Mobile Power Bank: With the "Vehicle-to-Load" (V2L) feature, you can plug in laptops or coffee makers directly into the car.

Subtle Design Tweaks
The car looks mostly the same but has grown by 20mm in length due to new bumper designs.
- Fresh Look: It features new 20-inch alloy wheels and a redesigned front bumper with blacked-out air flaps.
- Rear Updates: There is a new roof spoiler and a revised lighting strip at the back.
- Colors: You can choose from four shades: Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Grey, and Optic White.
A Practical, Tech-Loaded Cabin
Inside, Hyundai listened to customer feedback and swapped the high-maintenance white interior for a sleek Obsidian Black theme.
- Better Controls: Instead of hiding everything in menus, there are now more physical buttons for seat heating and cooling.
- Smart Layout: The wireless phone charger has been moved to a more convenient spot, and the steering wheel now has illuminated dots.
- Next-Gen Tech: The dual 12.3-inch screens now support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
- Sustainable Materials: Much of the cabin uses eco-friendly leather and fabrics made from recycled plastics.

Safety First
The Ioniq 5 continues to be a leader in safety, featuring six airbags and a full Level 2 ADAS suite. New additions include specialized sensors to help avoid collisions while parking and a remote immobilizer that can be activated through the Bluelink app if the car is stolen.
