Following its initial reveal as a concept last year, the Hyundai Ioniq 3 has officially launched at Milan Design Week 2026. This compact, pure-electric crossover was designed specifically for European drivers and will be manufactured at Hyundai’s Izmit plant in Turkiye. Built on the 400V Electric-Global Modular Platform, the Ioniq 3 shares its mechanical DNA with the Kia EV2.
The exterior showcases Hyundai’s "Art of Steel" design language, blending the sporty lines of a coupe with the practicality of an SUV. Key design highlights include:
- Signature Lighting: Features "H" Morse code pixel lights and flush door handles.
- Dimensions: A compact 4,170mm length with a generous 2,680mm wheelbase for interior comfort.
- N Line Trim: Adds aggressive body cladding, 19-inch aero wheels, and a gloss black rear diffuser.
- Storage: Offers a practical 441-liter cargo capacity.

Performance and Battery Tech
The Ioniq 3 provides two distinct battery options to suit different driving needs. While the Standard Range model uses a 42.2kWh pack, the Long Range variant steps up to a 61kWh unit.
- Range: Up to 344km (Standard) or 496km (Long Range) on the WLTP cycle.
- Charging: Supports DC fast charging, hitting 10–80% in approximately 29 minutes.
- Power: The front-mounted motor delivers 135hp or 147hp (N Line), both producing 250Nm of torque.
- V2L Capability: Allows the car to power external electrical devices.
Modern Interior and Smart Safety
Inside, the cabin is dominated by a massive 14.6-inch touchscreen running the new Pleos Connect system, based on Android Automotive OS. The interior is packed with premium touches, including a Bose sound system, dual-zone climate control, and heated/ventilated seats.
Safety is handled by the SmartSense ADAS suite, which includes:
- Adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking.
- Blind-spot monitoring and a 360-degree camera.
- 7 airbags and electronic stability control.
While a global rollout is expected in the coming months, Hyundai has yet to confirm specific launch dates for markets outside of Europe, including India.
