Electric motor and battery
The Taycan range uses two synchronous motors (one at each axle) with hairpin winding technology. Also, it comes equipped with a two-speed automatic transmission. In Sport and Sport Plus modes, the first gear provides improved acceleration. And, to achieve higher efficiency the Taycan then switches to the second gear at higher speeds.
Unlike the Taycan sedan, the Taycan Cross Turismo range gets only the largest capacity battery pack at 93.4kWh. However, the range and power output vary depending on the variant. This estate version of the Taycan supports AC and DC charging. The choice of faster charging is also available where the Taycan Cross Turismo can be charged with up to 270kW output at 800-volt charging stations.
Exterior
Although the Taycan Cross Turismo is an estate version of the Taycan sedan, it is slightly toned down to offer more practicality. More precisely, the Taycan Cross Turismo gets extra ground clearance, a gravel mode and additional boot space over the sedan. In terms of the design, the estate car also features Porsche signature four-pointed DRLs, matrix LED headlights, taillights with an LED light strip and charging ports on either side of the fenders. Meanwhile, the Cross Turismo features a spoiler fused with the roof.
Interior
The cockpit of the Taycan Cross Turismo resembles the sedan’s interior. It gets the same displays - a 16.8-inch digital driver display, a 10.9-inch centre information touchscreen and an 8.4-inch climate control touchscreen. Also, the interior comes in various combinations of colours and upholstery materials, including vegan material options.
