Market introduction
The McLaren GT was launched in India on 26 May.
Variants
It is offered in only a single trim - the GT Coupé.
Engine and transmission
The sports tourer gets an M840TE 3,994cc twin-turbocharged V8 mill married to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It is capable of producing 612bhp at 7,500rpm and delivers 630Nm of torque between 5,500 and 6,500rpm. Meanwhile, this rear-wheel biased sports car can go from zero to 100kmph in a mere 3.2 seconds while 0 to 200 time is achieved in 9.0 seconds flat. Besides, the GT has a top speed of 326kmph.
Exterior
This GT coupé uses a carbon fibre tub monocoque, including a carbon fibre rear upper structure. Moreover, instead of an adaptive spoiler, it gets a swan-tail spoiler. Apart from that, like the 720S, this sports tourer also features sophisticated aerodynamics with various air inlets and outlets.
Interior
The luxurious cockpit features a visible carbon fibre finish on most interior components. Meanwhile, the interior and comfort seats are upholstered in expensive Carbon Black Nappa leather. Besides, there is a tablet-shaped seven-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
Features
McLaren has equipped the GT coupé with double aluminium wishbone suspension, independent adaptive dampers with proactive damping control, electronic stability control, roll stability control and dual-zone temperature control.
Seating capacity
The GT can accommodate two adult passengers, including the driver.
Colours
It is available in six paint options as standard. Other colour shades come as optional.
Rivals
The McLaren GT takes on the Ferrari Roma, Bentley Continental GT, Aston Martin DB11 and the Porsche 911.
