When was the Maruti Jimny launched?
The all-new Jimny five-door was launched in India on 7 June, 2023.
What variants does it get?
A part of Nexa's portfolio, the Jimny is available in two variants – Zeta and Alpha.
What features are available in the Maruti Jimny?
Being a proper off-roader, the Jimny’s utilitarian design gets circular headlamps, chunky alloy wheels, body cladding all around, fog lights, tailgate-mounted spare wheel, and basic rectangular taillights. On the inside, the Jimny sports a nine-inch SmartPlay Pro Plus touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, cruise control, power mirrors and windows, steering-mounted controls, keyless entry, and an Arkamys sound system.
What are the engine, performance, and specifications of the Maruti Jimny?
With the Jimny, there’s only one engine choice available in India. It is the K15B, a four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produces 103bhp and 134Nm. You can have it either with a five-speed manual or a four-speed torque converter automatic.
Is the Maruti Jimny a safe car?
The five-door Jimny has not been tested by any NCAP body yet.
The SUV comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill-hold and descent control, and ISOFIX child seat-mounting points.
What are the rivals to the Maruti Jimny?
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is a proper 4x4, but more importantly, it is a lifestyle product. So it can only go up against the Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha in this space.
