Kia India has launched the much awaited Kia Carens CNG variant to enter the burgeoning CNG MPV segment. With prices starting at ₹11.77 lakh (ex-showroom, the Carens CNG offers a cleaner and more fuel-efficient option for Indian families who want space, comfort and great economy. This is also in line with Kia's plan to widen its powertrain portfolio and respond to greater demand for cleaner mobility in India.
Variants, Engine, and Performance
The Carens CNG is based on the popular 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine and comes with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The system reduces emissions and achieves significantly better mileage without compromising performance. The engine produces around 118 bhp and comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Kia has focused on providing performance that is as close as possible to petrol and diesel options to ensure it is among the most powerful CNG MPVs on the market, whether in the city or at highway speeds.

Features and Interior Comfort
The Carens CNG keeps the same premium cabin design as the Carens petrol and diesel. The MPV includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, rear AC vents and multiple seating. However, boot space is marginally impacted due to the inclusion of a CNG tank.
Price and Rivals
With a starting price of ₹11.77 lakh, the Carens CNG is a real challenger to competitors like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga CNG and Toyota Rumion CNG. Kia's latest model is intended to change the landscape for mid-size family MPVs with its stylish appearance, strong body structure, and everything else best in class.
The Kia Carens CNG is indubitably built for performance, practicality, and fuel efficiency, making it a compelling vehicle in India's burgeoning CNG segment.
