In a surprising move, Hyundai India has quietly removed the Tucson SUV from its official website, sparking speculation about the future of the brand’s flagship premium SUV. The Tucson, which was launched in its fourth-generation avatar in India back in 2022, has been well-known for its elegant design, luxurious interiors, and advanced safety technology. However, its sudden delisting hints that Hyundai may be preparing for a major strategy shift in this segment.
The Tucson offered two powerful engine options — a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel — paired with automatic transmissions and an all-wheel-drive option on the higher trims. Packed with high-end features like a panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ADAS Level 2 safety suite, and ventilated seats, it was positioned as a rival to SUVs like the Jeep Compass and Citroën C5 Aircross.

Despite its strong feature list, the Tucson never quite managed to attract high sales numbers in India, largely due to its premium pricing and limited local production. This move by Hyundai could indicate the end of the current-generation Tucson in India, or it might simply be a temporary step before the introduction of a facelifted or hybrid version designed for the Indian market.
While Hyundai has yet to make an official statement, enthusiasts are already speculating that a next-generation Tucson — possibly featuring electrified powertrains and new design updates — could make its way here by 2026. For now, the delisting marks the end of a short but notable chapter for Hyundai’s premium SUV lineup in India.
