The new, bigger, and smarter Kia Seltos is revealed; prices drop Jan 2, 2026.

Kia has just revealed the second generation of its very popular SUV, the Seltos, ahead of its official launch in 2026. This new version is bigger, packed with more features, and ready to take on the competition.

Key Dates for Your Calendar

  • Bookings Start: You can book the new Seltos starting December 10th.
  • Price Announcement: Kia will announce the official prices on January 2, 2026.
  • Versions Available: It will be offered in three different engine types and across five main trim levels: HTE, HTK, HTX, GT-Line, and X-Line.

New Look and Size

The 2026 Seltos has received a major upgrade, making it look sharper and more modern:

  • Exterior: The front has a completely new design with Kia's updated signature "tiger nose" grille and new bumpers. It also gets stylish, aerodynamic wheels and cool connected vertical taillights at the back.
  • Bigger Space: The new Seltos is longer (4.46 metres, up from 4.36 metres), and the space between the front and rear wheels (wheelbase) has also increased significantly. This means more legroom and cabin space for passengers.
  • Storage: The boot size is now 447 litres, which is very spacious, and the tailgate even has a convenient power function.

Inside the Cabin: Technology and Comfort

The interior has been completely redesigned to feel modern and high-tech:

  • Dual Screens: The main attraction inside is the huge, continuous display that combines two massive 12.3-inch screens—one for the driver's instruments and one for the infotainment system.
  • Premium Features: It shares many design cues with the Kia Carens and includes features like a panoramic sunroof, a high-quality Bose sound system, and a Head-Up Display (HUD) that projects information onto the windshield.
  • Second Row Comfort: The back seats can split 60:40 and even recline, which is great for long journeys.

Safety and Engines

The new Seltos offers great safety features and three engine options to choose from:

  • Top Safety: Safety is standard across all models, with six airbags, ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), a stability program, and Hill-Start Assist.
  • Advanced Driver Aids (ADAS): The feature list includes Level-2 ADAS, which provides advanced assistance like lane keeping and collision warnings.
  • Engine Choices:
    1. Standard Petrol: A 1.5-litre engine (113bhp), available with a manual or automatic (CVT) gearbox.
    2. Turbo Petrol (Most Powerful): A faster 1.5-litre Turbo GDi engine (158bhp). This comes with either a manual gearbox or a quick 7-speed DCT automatic.
    3. Diesel: A 1.5-litre diesel engine (118bhp), available with a manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Price Expectation

Kia expects the price to be announced on January 2, 2026, and it is estimated to fall in the range of ₹12 lakh to ₹20 lakh (estimated). It will continue to compete directly with other popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, and Maruti Grand Vitara.
