The new product is set to be a rival of Hyundai Creta & Maruti Grand Vitara

Tata Motors is getting ready to launch its all-new Sierra midsize SUV on November 25, 2025. This new model will fit right into Tata’s current lineup, positioned between the smaller Curvv and the larger Harrier. It will compete directly with popular rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate.

The company is expected to release the version with a standard combustion engine (ICE) first, with the electric model (EV) to follow later. Given its size and positioning above the Curvv, the Sierra's price is estimated to start around ₹11 lakh (ex-showroom).

Key Highlights and Features

  • Engine Debut: The new Sierra is likely to be the first Tata vehicle to use the brand's new, powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (TGDI) engine. Entry-level models might get a slightly less powerful version of this same engine. It may also borrow the 1.5-litre diesel engine currently used in the Curvv.
  • Three Power Options: Tata will offer the Sierra with a choice of petrol, diesel, and a pure electric powertrain. Details on the battery and range for the electric version (which will challenge the Creta EV and MG ZS EV) are still unknown.
  • Advanced Interior Tech: The cabin is expected to feature a cutting-edge three-screen setup on the dashboard, with each screen possibly measuring 12.3 inches (for the driver display, central infotainment, and a dedicated screen for the passenger).
  • Comfort and Safety: Expected comfort features include ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and a dual-tone dashboard. For safety, the Sierra is likely to include six airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) for increased driving safety. Like other Tata SUVs, it is expected to achieve a high crash safety rating.

Design Details

The new Sierra pays tribute to the original model, which was sold from 1991 for over a decade. It brings back classic elements like the signature curved rear windows, a tall bonnet, and boxy wheel arches. The modern version will feature a sharper roof, sleek headlamps, and connected daytime running lights (DRLs), matching the style of Tata's newest vehicles. It will ride on large 19-inch alloy wheels.
