When will the Citroen Basalt be launched?

Citroen India will launch the Basalt coupe-SUV in the country in H2 2024.

What variants will it get?

The Basalt is likely to be offered in three variants, namely You, Plus, and Max.

What features will be available in the Citroen Basalt?

In terms of features, the new Basalt will get a familiar fascia as that of the Citroen C3 Aircross. It will sport a split LED headlamp setup, LED DRLs, sloping roofline, chunky wheel arches, silver faux plates at the front and rear, wrap-around LED taillights, black ORVMs, and new alloy wheels.

The Basalt will be the first Citroen to get its updated interiors. This will include new upholstery, dual digital displays, improved plastics, and more feel-good features. The basics, which the C3 Aircross currently has, such as TPMS, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, push start/stop, digital driver’s display, and tilt-adjustable steering, will all be part of the new package.

What will be the engine, performance, and specifications of the Citroen Basalt?

The Citroen Basalt could be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine tuned to generate an output of 109bhp and 190Nm of torque. A six-speed manual unit is expected to be offered as standard, while a six-speed automatic unit will be available at launch.

Is the Citroen Basalt a safe car?

Citroen has not tested the Basalt coupe-SUV for any safety ratings yet.

What will be the rivals to the Citroen Basalt?

Upon its launch, the Citroen Basalt will lock horns with the Tata Curvv, Hyundai Creta, and the Kia Seltos, and top-spec versions of the Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and the Mahindra XUV 3XO.
